We’re heading to Gettysburg, PA for 4 days and 3 nights of beautiful countryside and battlefield experiences! Guests will enjoy 3 nights of accommodations at Best Western Gettysburg! This newly built, family owned & operated hotel is adjacent to America’s most historic battlefields and sites, featuring Serta Perfect Mattresses with 1 or 2 Queens, TVs, mini fridges, microwaves, wifi, indoor pool, fitness center, buffet breakfast with a view, and convenient walking distance to shops, restaurants, museums and famed historic sites. Lunches are not included, and guests should plan ahead accordingly. This Gettysburg Tour Package is presented by Brunswick Tours; the tour company we use for our PA Dutch step on guide Amish tour!

Chicken Breast Caprese or Beef Bourguignon, with tossed salad, vegetable medley, au gratin potatoes, dutch crumb cobbler, soft drinks and coffee or tea.

Day 2; Mon 9/29

7:30 am Buffet Breakfast @Best Western

9:30 am Gettysburg National Military Park Visitors Center Museum, self guided, featuring one of the largest collections of Civil War relics in the world, exhibit galleries, extensive displays and interactive programs. 20 minute Film “A New Birth of Freedom” plays every 15 minutes, leads directly into the Cyclorama Auditorium. 

Lunch on own in the Visitors Center’s ‘Refreshment Saloon’ modeled after actual Civil War era refreshment saloons with a “Tastes of the Period” menu & standard fare. 

1:00 pm Step on Guide 2-hour Battlefield Tour covering approx 25 miles of historic battlefield, landmarks and vistas.

3:30 pm Beyond The Battle 12 exhibits tell the remarkable story of ordinary eyewitnesses and their experiences before, during and after the Civil War through immersive technology and rare artifacts. 

5:30 pm Buffet Dinner @Dobbin House 25 item salad bar, chicken coq au vin, baked ham with pineapple raisin sauce, stuffed shells, vegetables, roasted potatoes, fresh bread, desserts, coffee, tea, iced tea. 

7:00 pm Approx Return to hotel, enjoy amenities on property and relax

 

Day 3; Tues 9/30

7:30 am Buffet Breakfast @Best Western

9:45 am Shriver House Museum Guided tour in period attire, focuses on the impact the Battle of Gettysburg had on the citizens of this crossroads town and its effects. 

12:00 pm Appalachian Brewing Co. Lunch on own adjacent to one of the most historic battlefields, this brewpub offers great food, craft beers and craft sodas with a unique nostalgic setting on Steinwehr Avenue. Spacious indoor dining areas, a large bar, outdoor patio seating and “Schwemmer” walk-up beer & soda window.

2:00 pm Seminary Ridge Museum award winning “Voices of Duty and Devotion” exhibit, 3 floor ADA museum, features museum shop and 1 mile long outdoor walking trail with wayside markers. 

4:00 pm Historic Round Barn & Farm Market built in 1914 one of the only round farms still in existence! Shop fresh seasonal varieties and baked goods sourced locally and seasonal decor. 

5:00 pm Family Style Dinner @Hickory Bridge Farm house salad, homemade spiced peaches, warm potato bread with apple butter, roast beef, oven fried chicken, potatoes, vegetables, corn fritters, stewed apples, dessert; beverages purchased separately. 

7:00 pm Approx Return to hotel, enjoy amenities on property and relax
