“Years ago I decided that the greatest need in our Country was Art… So I determined to make it my life work if I could.” —Isabella Stewart Gardner, 1917
Join Foxy Travel at the ISG Museum in Boston where the greatest unsolved art heist to date occurred! Learn all about this famous art heist as well as Isabella Stewart Gardner herself, as we take a guided tour throughout the Museum. Isabella Stewart Gardner collected and carefully displayed a collection comprised of more than 2,500 objects—paintings, sculpture, furniture, textiles, drawings, silver, ceramics, illuminated manuscripts, rare books, photographs and letters—from ancient Rome, Medieval Europe, Renaissance Italy, Asia, the Islamic world and 19th-century France and America. Built to evoke a 15th-century Venetian palace, the Museum itself provides an atmospheric setting for Isabella Stewart Gardner’s inventive creation. The inner atrium is a piece of art all in itself! Once we have completed our guided tour at the Museum, guests will have an additional hour to individually explore the museum further. We will then drop off guests at Boston’s Quincy Market to shop and eat for approximately two hours before re-boarding for our return trip to Foxy Travel.
